Qalqiliya – Mustafa Sabri – PNN/Exclusive - The Al-Aqsa Institute of the Waqf (Religious Endowments) and Heritage confirmed on Wednesday that all their efforts to protect Palestinian sacred sites outside the West Bank could not prevent a recent crime wave from Jewish extremists that included racist graffiti being sprayed on a mosque in Roubeen, a village southeast of Ramleh, inside Israel.

Muhammad Ashqar, a member of the Institute and delegate for the Jaffa region, said in a press released obtained by PNN that he and others were still trying to secure the religious rights of Muslims living in Israel, particularly around Jaffa, Lod, and Ramleh.
“The Al-Aqsa Institute, in its latest visit, found out that Jewish extremists had broken down the door to the Roubeen mosque and part of its outer wall, and wrote racist words inside the prayer area,” the press release stated. “They drew the Star of David on the dome and wrote words in Hebrew and English and disgraced the mosque. It was all part of repeated efforts on the part of these Jewish extremists to seize control of the mosque and the Islamic artifacts within it.”
The specific content of the graffiti was not known at press time.
