KHAN YOUNIS, (PIC)-- Two Palestinian resistance fighters from Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, were killed during fierce armed clashes with Israeli troops who tried to infiltrate into Khuza'a town, east of Khan Younis. The clashes lasted over six hours early on Sunday during which the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) used helicopters and heavy artillery. Spokesman for ambulance and emergency service Adham Abu Salmiya told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the intensive Israeli shelling of the eastern area of Khuza'a town led to the killing of fighters Mus'ab Abu Ruk and Mahmoud Annajjar during their attempts to repel an Israeli military incursion. Abu Salamiya added that the body of Abu Ruk was torn apart as it arrived at Naser hospital in Khan Younis city while the ambulances failed to pick up Annajjar because of the intensive Israeli shelling of the scene. A spokesman for Al-Quds Brigades told the PIC that Abu Ruk fought along with a group of his fellow fighters ferocious clashes with invading Israeli troops and afflicted them with heavy losses, but he noted that another fighter is still missing. The PIC reporter affirmed that Israeli military choppers overflew east of Khuza'a and fired heavily at the Palestinian side of the Israeli security fence where the clashes were taking place, adding more Israeli reinforcements were sent to the area amid indiscriminate intensive shelling. |
